Hello! Gary and Jenn here. We are self taught cooking enthusiasts and like almost anything (that doesn’t swim. We know, that’s weird!). This blog is really 2 blogs in 1 so. One part of the blog will highlight Jenn’s ethnic recipes- Indian, Lebanese, and Mexican- as well as other favs- which could be anything! The other part will highlight Gary’s recipes- which will feature a lot of Italian and charcoal grilling, as well as anything in between. You will definitely notice different styles between the two of us- writing, photography, etc. We think that’s what makes this blog unique- in a good way :)- and we hope you agree! Now just an itty bitty more about us….
Jenn was born in OK and lived the first 25 years of her life almost equally in both OK and TX. She met this fantastically quirky man named Gary and it was all over from there. Practically love at first sight (insert the sound of a harp, a violin, and piano), the two have been inseparable ever since and married in 2003. In 2004 the duo moved to an equally quirky little city called Utica in Upstate NY.
Gary (aka G-Money, or just G$) loves cooking, particularly smoking meats on his Weber grill(s)- yes we have 3 (THREE! Count them: 1- 2- 3!) Weber grills. G-Money was born in Utica and grew up around these parts. And his family lives here.
Utica has a very diverse, ethnic population- particularly for a city of its size, about 60,000. There are fun things to do in Utica- lots of unique foods and festivals to experience throughout the year. Practically everyone we know is a master cook in something. We are so fortunate to know such folks- it keeps our bellies full and full bellies= happiness!
