Peanut Butter and Banana Hummus makes one super amazing, tasty sandwich! Yes, sir-eee it does!
Elvis apparently loved peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Oh, and make that fried….. add a few slices of crispy bacon while you’re at it. I’ve never personally made the King of Rock-n-Roll’s beloved sandwich quite like that, but I can say for certain that peanut butter + banana = YUM! And you can never go wrong with throwin’ a little bacon on anything!
I’ve got some good news, peeps! You can enjoy the delicious flavors of peanut butter and banana but in a healthier form with this recipe. Chickpeas are my friends and they give this a creamy, nutty flavor and texture but without all the added fat and calories if you just used regular peanut butter. The other good news: This is so easy to make. Just throw everything in a food processor and pulse until creamy. I don’t have kids, but I’d be willing to bet this is totally kid approved and perfect for a sack lunch or healthy afternoon snack. Plate this hummus up with a side of fresh fruit and carrot sticks and I’d say you have a pretty wholesome, well-balanced meal. I like this on toasted bread, but it’s also great as fruit dip; apples being my fruit of choice. The possibilities are endless! Love!
