I do my best to eat healthy as much as I can, but you know, there are times when I just crave a good ol’ piece of fried chicken and I decide not to deny myself the sinful pleasure. Serve it up with mashed potatoes and green beans and you just can’t go wrong. In developing this recipe, I found that adding packets of blue cheese salad dressing mix to the flour coating yields a wonderful zing to the end product. I hope you enjoy it. Now off for a few extra minutes on the treadmill…..but it was all worth it!

Kandi says
Do you really fry the chicken for an hour?
Jenn @ The Spice Kit Recipes says
Hi, Kandi. This is Gary from the Spice Kit Recipes; thanks for your question! When I fry chicken, I work low and slow. I perform a shallow pan fry on medium to medium low heat and I’m obsessed with making sure that every inch of the chicken is golden brown before I take it out of the pan. So….it ends up taking me close to an hour to get things the way I like them (50 mins or so). I find that this method allows for a crispy chicken without burning anything and without drying things out. But as with all of our recipes, I write the instructions based on the way I do things, which isn’t the only way. Feel free to prepare the chicken using your own methods and I’m sure you will get an excellent result!
