We’ve had a tradition now, oh, for the past decade that each time we visit the fam in Texas we get pedicures. These annual pedis have become one of our favorite things to do when we visit. It’s such a treat. Anyone that’s had a pedicure surely agrees with me. Mom, Richard, Gary, and I. The four of us are quite the site when we stroll in each year. My mom, who has the ability to effortlessly become friends with anyone, befriended the owners of a nail salon near her home. It took a little convincing for Gary to get a pedicure the first time. We assured him he would not loose his manliness in the process. Thankfully, when a rather large, 6 foot tall high school football player walked in for his pedicure he KNEW it was ok. The guy even let us take a picture of him with his feet in the water so we could show Gary’s masculine friends in NY that pedicures are totally manly, as they were not yet convinced. Now Gary is completely comfortable- an old pro.
As silly as it sounds, I like looking at all the pretty nail polish colors. So many choose from! Which one will it be?
This one looks good! Now for the treat part…..
Our delightful friends made a home cooked Vietnamese lunch just for us! Is that incredibly generous or what? Who else can say they get pedicures AND lunch? We feel pretty special… and grateful…. and happy. So did the other customers. They got lunch too, and cake my mom made.
This was soooo good. Homemade egg rolls, shrimp fried rice, and the juiciest baked chicken, like ever! I can handle this
Gary’s managing as well!
What can I say? It was a great time eating home cooked food while getting our feet pampered.
